With your Google Nest or Home speakers or displays, you can always get to work on time when you get information about your commute, traffic conditions, and your estimated time of arrival.
Step 1. Manage your commute settings
You must set the following locations in the Google Home app to get relevant commute information:
Step 2. Choose your preferred way of getting around
Your Google Assistant will provide traffic and commute info for how you like to travel.
- Open the Google Home app

- At the top right, tap your account.
- Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Nest speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
- Tap Assistant settings

- Under "Getting around,"
- Choose a travel mode to get to work.
- Choose a travel mode to get around.
Step 3. Ask for directions and commute information
Below are some ways to talk with Google Assistant on your speaker or display about commute conditions, estimated time of arrival, and more:

Important: You must be specific with your query to get the correct traffic information.
- “Hey Google, how long is my commute?” - Your speaker or display will share traffic from your home address to your work location.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure you've set your home and work locations either in the Google Home app
or in Google Maps.
Note: This can’t be done using your voice. - Make sure you've set your home address.
