Choose a weather unit for your home or voice assistant

With the Google Home app, you can change the temperature unit to Fahrenheit or Celsius for your home and connected devices. You can also do this on Gemini for Home voice assistant or Google Assistant-enabled devices linked to your Google Account.

You can set your preferred temperature unit across these devices:

• Google Nest thermostats
• Google smart displays
• Google Home app
• Ask Home responses
• Outdoor weather in Favorites

If you’ve set a different temperature unit on different devices, the Google Home app might ask you if you want to set a unified temperature setting.

Set your preferred temperature unit for your home

Important: Changes don’t apply on displays for third-party devices.

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
3. Tap Home settings  Temperature units.
4. Turn on Use the same unit everywhere.
5. Tap Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Change the weather unit your voice assistant uses

1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
2. Open the Google Home app .
3. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.

4. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the drop down  another account or Add another account.

5. Tap Home settings   Gemini for Home voice assistant or Google Assistant.
6. Scroll to "Your info", and then tap Weather .
7. Choose your preferred weather unit.
