Control volume using the Google Home app

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your Google Home device.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. In the top right corner of the Home screen, tap Devices  to see available Google Home devices.
  4. Scroll to find the device card for the Google Home that is currently playing media.
  5. Tap the volume button on the device card .
  6. Move the slider to the left or right to adjust the volume. Sliding to the right increases the volume, sliding to the left decreases the volume.

You can change the volume of Google Home when media is playing, when media isn’t playing, or when media is paused. If you change the volume when media isn’t playing or when media is paused, you'll hear an audible confirmation from Google Home.
