Prioritise a device on your Wi-Fi network

Give a chosen device the fastest connection on your Wi-Fi network. Use the priority device setting in the Google Home app for Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi or Google Wifi. When you prioritise a device, your Wi-Fi network reserves more bandwidth for that device to use. This means less buffering and better download speeds.

• You can prioritise any device on your Wi-Fi network. This includes wired or wireless connections.
• You can prioritise only one device at a time.
• When you prioritise a device, it gets 70% of available bandwidth. All other devices share the remaining bandwidth.

If your Internet service provider (ISP) doesn't supply enough bandwidth, this might limit the Wi-Fi speed of your other devices.

To set a priority device:

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Tap Favourites   Wi-Fi .
3. Tap Devices select the device you want to prioritise tap Prioritise device.
4. At the bottom, select how long you want to prioritise that device.
5. Tap Save.
