Accessibility in the Google Home app
You can turn on common accessibility features in your device’s settings. Explore the accessibility features available on the Google Home app.
Vision
- The app supports Android TalkBack. Standard navigation elements, room labels, and most device tiles have proper semantic labeling. Dark mode and high contrast support are well-integrated.
- To interact with the app with touch and spoken feedback, turn on the TalkBack screen reader in your device settings.
- TalkBack describes your actions and tells you about alerts and notifications.
- To enhance or adjust the visible display in the app, you can:
- Magnify your entire screen or parts of your display, including text or button sizes, through the display size and text settings.
- Change font size, style, and contrast in the display size and text settings.
- Adjust the app display to enhance your vision with color correction or filters including gray scale and color inversion in the color and motion settings.
- You can select portions of the app to be spoken aloud by turning on Select to Speak.
- The app supports Display/Text Size adjustments (Android), so the UI scales properly without cutting off text.
Voice
No voice commands: Use the app without voice commands.
