What is Nest Wifi Pro?

Nest Wifi Pro is Google Nest's highest performance home internet system. Using Wi-Fi 6E, Nest Wifi Pro uses multiple routers to reach all of your devices anywhere you want them. Nest Wifi Pro reaches greater speeds and coverage area compared to Google Nest's previous Wi-Fi systems.

Get Wi-Fi coverage throughout your entire home

Nest Wifi Pro (Wi-Fi 6E) uses mesh Wi-Fi technology. Each router works together to make sure your devices stay on the channel with the most bandwidth. The result is a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout your entire home. This makes it possible to move across different rooms on a video call with minimal disruption, or stream multiple 4K videos at once.

This system is scalable, so you can find the right number of Nest Wifi Pro devices available for the size of your home. For more coverage, just add an additional Nest Wifi Pro device. Nest Wifi Pro (Wi-Fi 6E) is not backwards compatible and cannot be combined with Nest Wifi or Google Wifi (Wi-Fi 5) in a mesh network. Due to the technology built into Nest Wifi Pro, mixed networks with Nest Wifi Pro and earlier versions of Nest Wifi or Google Wifi are not supported.

Learn about Wi-Fi 6E

Wi-Fi 6E offers up to 2x the speeds of Wi-Fi 61. It includes access to the 6 GHz wireless band, which provides fast speeds, less congested channels, and allows more devices to operate faster. Learn more about the benefits of Wi-Fi 6E.

Nest Wifi Pro includes this third 6 GHz radio band alongside traditional Wi-Fi radios in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands.

Get Matter and Thread support for a more connected home

  • Nest Wifi Pro supports Matter, a universal standard that simplifies smart home compatibility and setup. Nest Wifi Pro can act as a hub for Matter to connect and control your Google Home and other Matter-enabled devices. This makes your smart home faster to set up and more responsive and reliable. Learn more about Matter.
  • Thread is a wireless mesh technology, designed to make your smart devices more connected and reliable. It extends the overall strength, capability, and reach of your home network. Nest Wifi Pro has a Thread border router built in to act as a hub. This makes it easy to add Thread devices to your network while using its antennas to extend the coverage of your Thread network. Easy to set up and manage

You can quickly set up Nest Wifi Pro and manage it in the Google Home app along with your other connected devices. If you have an existing Nest Wifi or Google Wifi system, you’ll have to remove your previous network from your existing Google Home structure. Alternatively, you can set up a different Google Home structure for your Nest Wifi Pro.

After the new network is set up, automatic updates to Nest Wifi Pro give you new features and help keep your network secure.

Enjoy Google smarts for faster, more reliable Wi-Fi

Nest Wifi Pro uses network insights to automatically optimize your network's performance. For example, it'll automatically prioritize video calls to help keep them smooth and consistent. Nest Wifi Pro can also adapt and account for when your internet service provider (ISP)'s speeds dip unexpectedly.

Wi-Fi issues are proactively being scanned for, and Nest Wifi Pro can even fix common network problems on its own. It can also inform you if a simple fix like replacing your Ethernet cable can improve your network's performance.

Maintain a secure Wi-Fi network

You can create a guest network and share your password from the Google Home app. You can also decide which devices to prioritize for faster speeds, and run speed tests to understand the performance of your network and device connectivity.

Family Wi-Fi lets you set schedules to manage screen time, restrict certain kinds of adult content, and pause Wi-Fi for specific devices whenever you want.

1Up to 2x faster as compared to a Wi-Fi 6 router that supports 80 MHz channels. Wi-Fi 6E specifications are based on use of a Wi-Fi 6 or later generation client device that supports 160 MHz channels. Actual speeds depend on your internet service provider, network conditions, connected device, local regulations, and environmental factors.
