Get started with the Fitbit Charge 6

Getting Started - Charge 6 Banner

Fitbit's Charge 61 is a fitness tracking device designed to help you track your fitness and manage your daily routines. It monitors health metrics like your steps, sleep, and heart rate, and syncs them to the Google Health app.

Set up Charge 6
  1. Turn on and charge your device. To set up Charge 6, first connect it to the charging cable.

  2. Download and install the Google Health app.
  3. Open the Google Health app and tap Sign in with Google.
  4. Choose a Google Account. If you don't have a Google Account, tap Sign In and then Create account.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to create an account and connect your Fitbit device to your phone. This ensures your Fitbit device and phone communicate with one another and sync data.
  6. Unlock Google Health Premium. You can redeem a Google Health Premium trial subscription in the Google Health app. 2

To complete the creation of your Google Health account, you're prompted to enter your height, weight, and sex to calculate metrics like your stride length and estimate distance, basal metabolic rate (BMR), and calorie burn. For details, go to How does my device calculate my daily activity?

Get to know Charge 6

Navigate Charge 6. Tap the screen and swipe to navigate your tracker. Swipe right to return to a previous screen or press the button to return to the clock screen.

Check your stats. Swipe up on the clock face to check your stats, such as steps, heart rate, Active Zone Minutes, and more.

Change your clock face. Match your device to your style by picking from a variety of clock faces. On certain clock faces, tap the clock screen to change the displayed stat.

Low heart rate notification

Get heart rate notifications. Your heart rate is a key indicator of health. Stay informed when Charge 6 detects that your heart rate is unusually high or low.

Assess for atrial fibrillation (AFib). With the Electrocardiogram (ECG) app, ​assess​ your ​heart for ​atrial fibrillation or heart rhythm irregularity and share the results with your doctor.4

Track health metrics in the Google Health app. In certain regions, you can track your health metrics, such as breathing rate, heart-rate variability, skin temperature, and resting heart rate, through vitals in the Google Health app. This can help you identify changes in your well-being, like increased stress, fatigue, or potential signs of illness.

Sleep score

Track your sleep. Based on your heart rate, time asleep, and restlessness, your nightly sleep score helps you better understand how you slept.

Get in the zone. Personalized heart-rate zones help you target the training intensity of your choice. Earn Active Zone Minutes for time spent in the moderate (fat burn), vigorous (cardio), or peak heart-rate zones.
