Important: You can do these actions without deleting your Google Health account:
- Set up a new or replacement Fitbit device, or remove a device from your account. For guidance, go to How do I set up my Fitbit device?
- Manage or delete all or some of your Google Health data. For more information, go to Control your Google Health data.

Prepare for account deletion
- Remove child accounts: You must first remove the child account associated with your account before account deletion.
- Export your data: If you want to export your data before deletion, go to How do I export my Google Health data?
- Cancel subscriptions: If you have a Google Health Premium subscription, you should manage or cancel it separately through the store where you purchased it. Check if your subscription was purchased from Google Play, Apple App Store, or Google Store.
- Erase your device: Account deletion doesn't automatically erase the data stored on your Fitbit device. If you plan to give your device away, clear its local data first.
Delete Fitbit or Google Health account
Steps to delete your account, and the reactivation period, depend on your login method. You can either log in to the Google Health app with a Google Account or use an original Fitbit login to access deletion controls in your Fitbit account. Follow the applicable steps below.
Using the Google Health app
If you sign in with your Google Account
- Open the Google Health app

- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Tap Your data in Google Health.
- Scroll and tap Delete Google Health from your Google Account.
- Log in to your Google Account.
- Under "Delete a Google service," next to Google Health tap Delete

- Review and understand the information about account deletion. To confirm deletion, tap the check box then select Delete Google Health service.
Your data will be permanently deleted after 30 days. To recover your account, sign in during this period.
If you sign in with a Fitbit account
- Go to fitbit.com/settings/profile.
- Sign in with your Fitbit account email and password.
- Tap Delete account.
- Enter your password, then tap Send confirmation email.
- You will receive an email confirmation that you want to delete your account.
- After you confirm, your Fitbit account will be deactivated for 7 days.
Your data will be permanently deleted after 7 days. To recover your account, sign in during this period. After 7 days, your account cannot be recovered.
Most of your personal account info is deleted within 30 days after you confirm your deletion request. It may take up to 90 days to delete all of your personal info, like the data recorded by your Fitbit device. This includes other data stored in our backup systems. The deletion of your data may take time due to the size and complexity of the systems we use to store data.
