Share a post on Currents

You can share posts to Communities or people. When you share a post, people following you, or the Community you post to, can see it in their stream. Posts you share can also show up on your profile.The content you share publicly in Currents is publicly searchable -- even if your Google profile isn't. The content that you share to specific people is only searchable by the people it was shared with. There's no way to make the content you share not searchable.

People can connect with you by commenting on, resharing, or liking your posts.

Note: Images and videos posted to Currents must follow Google Photos back up specifications. To learn more, read Back up photos & videos.

Share a post

1. On your computer, open Currents.
2. At the bottom right, click Compose .
3. Type your post. 
   • To share a link, click Insert link .
   • To share a file from Google Drive, click Add document  . You can only add one file at a time to a post.
   • To share an image, click Image . You can add multiple images to a post.
   • To create a poll, click Polls .
4. To choose who to share the post with, next to your name, click the blue text. You can share with a person or a Community. 
5. Click Post.

Note: Pasting images into a post is not supported.

Sharing a post on a work or school account

If the person in charge of your work or school account (domain administrator) has turned on Currents for your organization, you can share with people in your organization. Learn more about sharing restrictions for G Suite users.

Note: ​If you don't have an Internet connection, what you share won't be posted until you're connected again. Once you have Internet, the post will be automatically shared for you.

Reshare a post

To reshare something someone else posted:

1. On your computer, open Currents. 
2. On the post you want to reshare, click Share .
   Note: If you don't see the Share icon, it means the person who made the post chose to not let people reshare it, or it's in a private community. You can't share private posts publicly.
3. Choose who you want to share the post with.
4. Click Post.

Note: You can't share privately shared posts publicly.

Edit a post you've shared

1. On your computer, open Currents. 
2. Open the post you want to edit.
3. Click More  Edit post.
4. Make your changes, then click Done.

Prevent people from commenting on or resharing your post

If you don't want people to be able to comment on or reshare a post you make:

1. On your computer, open Currents. 
2. Open the post. You can also change this setting when you are making a post.
3. Click More .
4. Click Disable comments or Disable reshares.

Note: You can also change who can comment on your public posts using the Settings menu.

Delete a comment

You can delete a comment someone left on your post.

1. On your computer, open Currents. 
2. Open the post. 
3. In the comment, click More   Delete comment.
