Share a post on Currents

You can share posts to Communities or people. When you share a post, people following you, or the Community you post to, can see it in their stream. Posts you share can also show up on your profile.The content you share publicly in Currents is publicly searchable -- even if your Google profile isn't. The content that you share to specific people is only searchable by the people it was shared with. There's no way to make the content you share not searchable.

People can connect with you by commenting on, resharing, or liking your posts.

Note: Images and videos posted to Currents must follow Google Photos back up specifications. To learn more, read Back up photos & videos.

Share a post

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Currents app .
  2. At the bottom right, tap Compose .
  3. Type your post
    • To share a link, tap Insert link Link.
    • To share a file from Google Drive, tap Add document Google Drive . You can only add one file at a time to a post.
    • To share an image, tap Image . You can add multiple images to a post.
    • To create a poll, tap Polls Polls.
    • To choose who to share the post with, next to your name, tap the blue text. You can share with a person or a Community.
    • At the top right, tap Post.

Note:

  • If you don't have an Internet connection, what you share won't be posted until you're connected again. Once you have Internet, the post will be automatically shared for you.
  • If you change your mind before reconnecting to the Internet, you can cancel your post by going to your device's notifications, tapping the Currents logo, and, next to the post you want to cancel, tapping Remove Remove.

Sharing a post on a work or school account

If the person in charge of your G Suite account (domain administrator) has turned on Currents for your organization, you can share with people in your organization. Learn more about sharing restrictions for G Suite users.

Reshare a post

To reshare something someone else posted:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Currents app .
  2. Find the post you want to reshare and tap Share . If you don't see it, the post can't be reshared.
  3. Tap Share on Currents.
  4. Choose who you want to share the post with.
  5. Tap Post.

Note: You can't share privately shared posts publicly.

Get a link to a Currents post

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Currents app .
  2. Find the post you want to share and tap Share . If you don't see it, the post can't be reshared.
  3. Tap Copy link.

Edit a post you've shared

You can make changes to a post after you've shared it on Currents.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Currents app .
  2. Open the post you want to edit.
  3. Tap More More and then Edit post.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. Tap Save or Send Send.

You can also delete your post.

Prevent people from commenting on or resharing your post

If you don't want people to be able to comment on or reshare a post you make:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Currents app .
  2. Open the post. You can also change this setting when you are making a post.
  3. Tap More More.
  4. Tap Disable comments or Disable reshares.

Note: You can also change who can comment on your public posts using the Settings menu.

Delete a comment

You can delete a comment someone left on your post.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Currents app .
  2. Open the post.
  3. In the comment, tap More More and then Delete comment.
