Manage my application and candidate data

How does Google use my Application/Careers profile data?

Google will use your information for the purposes of carrying out the application and recruitment process.

Where application prefill data comes from

Your ‘Careers profile’ is populated by the information provided at the time of application submission and used to prefill information for future applications to Google. Only data that you explicitly put into the application form is ever offered for prefill of subsequent applications.  (The same is true for the data sent to Google Staffing with your application). Any time you apply to a job, the Careers profile is updated and used for future prefills. The removal process described below will remove your Careers profile, applications, and prefill data.

Remove your application and candidate information

If you submit a request to remove your Careers profile and application data you’ll no longer be able to see your profile or any personalized content associated with your profile, and will lose the ability to have application information prefilled from your profile, or any draft or submitted applications. You can always create a new profile in the future to re-enable these features.

Data removal requests apply holistically. Accordingly, to be considered for future employment  you will need to apply again and create a new Careers profile.  Post deletion, Google recruiters will not contact you about job opportunities until you submit a new application with a new Careers profile.

To delete this data, please contact hrdatarequest@google.com with the subject line “Delete My Data”. In the event of a removal request, please note that we may need to retain some information if required by law or as necessary to protect ourselves from legal claims. For more information regarding the collection, processing, and removal of your personal data you can review our Applicant and Candidate Privacy Policy.

If your application was unsuccessful

If you apply for a job at Google and your application is unsuccessful (or you withdraw from the process or decline our offer), Google will retain your information for a period after your application. We retain this information for various reasons, including in case we face a legal challenge with respect to a recruitment decision, to consider you for other current or future jobs at Google and to help us better understand, analyze and improve our recruitment processes.
