You can change your photo and video settings. For example, you can turn location stamps on or off, save storage space, and control dirty lens warnings.
Turn off shutter sound
- Open your Google Camera app

Tip: To view a timestamp for any photo, in the bottom right corner, tap the photo More

Reduce resolution to save storage space

Check photo and video storage space
To find out how many photos and minutes of video you can take on your Pixel phone:

- To optimize storage space, you can turn on Storage Saver.
Adjust your camera lens
Take a panorama- Open your Google Camera app

- Tap More

- Tap Capture

- Hold the lens steady while you move the camera horizontally. Be sure to keep the white frame aligned.
- To take a vertical panorama, rotate your phone vertically. Then, move your camera up or down.
- When you're done capturing your image, tap Stop recording

Photo Sphere

- Hold the target circle over a white dot. The dot will turn blue, then disappear.
- Move the camera to the next white dot as you hold the lens steady.
- Repeat until there are no more white dots, or tap Done

Use Macro Focus to capture photos of small details like flower petals or dew drops.
- Open your phone's Camera app

- Move your phone close to your subject.
- Tap the screen to place the focus.
- When the Macro flower
appears, take your photo.
Tips:
- Don’t shade your subject or block your light source.
- To force Macro focus on or turn it off, tap
.
- To focus on a specific part of your subject, tap the screen where you want to focus.
- Macro focus also works with Auto Night Sight.
Capture photos of subjects from a distance. With the next generation of zoom lenses, you can zoom up to:
- 8x with your Pixel 7 phone
- 30x with your Pixel 7 Pro phone
Tip: Zoom stabilization turns on automatically on Pixel 7 Pro phones zoomed to 15x.
- Open your Google Camera app

- For closer subjects, tap the 2x or 5x zoom button above the shutter.
- For far away subjects, pinch the screen or swipe across the zoom buttons to show the zoom slider.
- Tap your subject to focus.
- Take your photo.
Tip: Bright light is best for photos captured with zoom and stabilization.
Turn off dirty lens warnings
You may get a warning message if your camera senses that the lens is dirty. To turn off these messages:
