What are my responsibilities as a faculty/instructor in the Career Launchpad program?

As a faculty/instructor facilitator:

  • Conduct learner mentoring sessions as needed.
  • Ensure that all learners complete the Cloud Certificate or course series on Google Cloud Skills Boost within the prescribed timeline.
  • For the Google Cloud Engineering Certificate, encourage all learners prepare for and take the Associate Cloud Engineer certification exam.

As a faculty/instructor learner:

  • Complete the Cloud Certificate or course series on Google Cloud Skills Boost within the prescribed timeline.
  • For the Google Cloud Engineering Certificate or Cloud Digital Leader course, prepare for and take the certification exam. Faculty who complete the Learning Path are eligible for a 100% discount on the exam fee.

When can I apply for a Career Launchpad program?

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Only verified Faculty and government agency or nonprofit administrators may apply. Once the program is set up in Google Cloud Skills Boost, instructors may begin inviting learners immediately.

Note: If you are from an Asia-Pacific countries (i.e., India, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia etc.) then please wait for a Program Manager from Google to reach out before you start adding students otherwise it might lead to disqualification from the program.

What are the tax and/or legal implications of these free credits?

We advise faculty members and government/nonprofit instructors to consult a tax and/or legal professional on any implications of receiving these free credits from Google.

Can I change or cancel my application once it has been submitted?

Unfortunately you cannot edit your application once it has been submitted. If you would like to update or cancel an application please respond to your application email thread.

Can I add other faculty members, teaching assistants, or instructors as learners?

No, you cannot add other faculty members, teaching assistants, or instructors as learners.

Will I continue to have access to Google Cloud Skills Boost after the program track timeline ends?

Access to Google Cloud Skills Boost and your personal learning history will remain after the program ends. However, your access to the Career Launchpad program expires 6 months after your invitation. After your program expires, you will no longer have access to student learner data and graded assignments. Make sure to download any reports you may need.

Where can I find the Tax ID Number, DUNS Number or Unique Entity ID for my government agency?

Please note that for the application process, you only need to provide one of the following verification numbers with the link to the site it is listed on.

  • Tax ID Number

    • A tax ID number is assigned by the tax authority or other governmental entity in the country where the organization was established. Other names include Employer Identification Number (EIN), Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN), Value-added Tax Identification number or VAT identification number (VATIN). 

    • Each country has its own laws governing how an organization obtains a tax ID. Each country's applicable regulator provides a tax ID when an organization completes its applicable registration process. For questions about your tax ID, or help locating your number, please contact your applicable regulatory authority.

  • DUNS Number

    • The Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S® Number is a unique nine-digit identifier for businesses that is associated with a business’s Live Business Identity which may help evaluate potential partners, seek new contracts, apply for loans, and so much more.

    • Though the D-U-N-S Number is no longer required for bidding by the U.S. federal government, many other governments and companies around the world still use the D-U-N-S Number. Though the D-U-N-S Number and the U.S. federal government are no longer linked, many other governments and companies around the world still use the D-U-N-S Number. Institutions in Australia and the European Union, for example, still use it.

    • You can look up your organization’s DUNS Number (if they have one) with the DUNS Number Lookup (non-federal gov agencies in the United States only).

  • Unique Entity ID: (US Federal govt only) 

    • The Unique Entity ID is only used by US Federal government agencies. The Unique Entity ID is a 12-character alphanumeric ID assigned to an entity by SAM.gov.

    • On April 4, 2022, the United States federal government stopped using the DUNS Number to uniquely identify entities. Since then, entities doing business with the United States federal government use the Unique Entity ID created in SAM.gov.

    • You can find your organization’s Unique Entity ID Number with this lookup.

How do I register my nonprofit organization for Google for Nonprofits? 

To register your nonprofit organization for Google for Nonprofits, please navigate to this link. On the Google for Nonprofits site, please click the blue “Get Started” button at the top right of the page.
