Conversion tracking setup usually requires coding knowledge, but we’re going to help you set up conversion tracking without coding. In this article, we’ll cover setting up conversion tracking on the web.
How it works
Setting up conversion tracking involves 2 steps:
- Set up a conversion action: A conversion action is a specific customer activity that is valuable to your business, such as online purchase or form submission. It is set up in your Google Ads account and defines how the customer activity should be captured and reported in Google Ads. Learn more about setting up conversion actions
- Before setting up your conversion action, identify the right category of conversions to be set up based on your business goals.
- Set up a conversion tracking tag: When you create a conversion action in your Google Ads account, you’ll get a conversion tracking tag. A conversion tracking tag is a Java script code snippet that needs to be added to your website or your tag setup in Google Tag Manager(without coding). This tag tracks when someone who's clicked your ad goes to your website and completes an action that you've defined as valuable, such as a purchase or sign-up.
