Make your certifications count towards your company's Partner badge status

In 2021, we'll be updating the requirements needed to be considered for Partner badge status. This change will also include the way your certifications count towards badge and company specialisation status.

We put together this FAQ to address some additional questions about the change, including how Eligible Users count for our Certification requirement.

To earn a Google Partner badge, your company needs to have signed up for the Google Partners programme and have met all of the requirements needed for Partner status. Learn more about the requirements in How to earn the Google Partner badge.

One of the main requirements is certifications. A company needs to have a certain amount of eligible users certified to earn the badge.

Certification Requirement [Current Partner badge] Certification Requirement [2020 Partner badge]
A company needs one user certified in Google Ads who has admin or standard access to the company's Google Ads manager account or any account linked to the company's Google Partners registered Ads manager account. A company needs to have at least 50% of its eligible users earn updated certifications from Skillshop. A company must also have at least one user certified in each channel that they have spend in.

Checking your Partners' certified users

These steps address checking on your certified users for the current badge. To check on your user certifications for the 2021 badge, you can read about the Users table in Google Partners.

Skillshop doesn't provide reports about your company's individual users' certification information. However, you can check your Google Ads certified users by following these directions:

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
  2. Go to the Partner programme tab and click on the Badge status card
  3. Click View details to see your company's specialisation details.
  4. Click on the text in the middle of the card to show achieved, not achieved or number of certified individuals, which will open a pop-up window listing your company's certified individuals by product area.

We recommend that users link their training activities to your company by listing your company's name and corporate email address in their Skillshop profile and sharing their account information with your company.

Note: There might be up to a 48-hour delay between when an affiliated individual earns a certification in Skillshop and when that information is applied towards your company's Partner badge or specialisation requirement.
