Update your payment methods and settings

Within the 'Billing & payments' section of your account, you can view and update your card information and payments profile details. To change how you pay (for example, from automatic to manual payments), please contact Google Ads Support. Available payment settings vary depending on your country. Note: In some cases, certain payment methods may be temporarily unavailable to edit while Google Ads reviews your account’s eligibility to use them. Learn more about unavailable payment methods

Change whether your payments are made automatically or manually

Depending on the country of your billing address, you can change whether your payments are made automatically or manually at any time. After switching to automatic payments, your next payment will happen on the first day of each month, or whenever your account reaches a payment threshold. Learn more about available payment methods in your country 
Note: When switching from automatic to manual payments, Google Ads Support will inform you of any additional requirements including any outstanding payments.
  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon Billing Icon.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Find the payment method that you want to update
  4. Next to 'How you pay', click the pencil icon Edit and select your new method. 
  5. Click Save

Update your card’s expiry date or nickname

You can edit the expiry date and the payment method nickname if your payment method account number isn't changing (instead of re-entering all of your payment method information). 
  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon Billing Icon.
  2. Click Payment methods.
  3. Find the payment method that you want to update, and click Edit.
  4. Enter your updated information.
  5. Click Save.
Note: If your credit card or bank account number changes, this is considered a new credit card or bank account. You'll need to add it as a new payment method and then remove the former payment method. Learn more about adding a new payment method

Update your payments profile information

You can edit the information in your payments profile. Bear in mind that what you can edit in your payments profile depends on your specific payment setting and your billing country. Learn more about payment profiles
  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon Billing Icon.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Find the 'Payments profile' section. Under 'Payment profile', you can view details like your payment profile ID, account type and other details.
  4. Click any field that has a pencil icon, and enter your updated information.
  5. Click Save.
Note: To change permissions related to the payments profile, and grant or revoke access to make purchases or edit the profile, visit the Google payments centre and click Settings.
