Manager Accounts (MCC): Unlink accounts from your manager account

To stop managing a particular client or manager account, you’ll need administrative access to that manager or client account to unlink the account from your manager account.

This article shows you how to unlink an account from a manager account or from a client account. For more information on what happens when you unlink the accounts, review About unlinking accounts from your manager account.

Instructions

To unlink an account from your manager account:

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads manager account.
  2. Click the Accounts icon Accounts icon., then click the Sub-account settings drop-down.
  3. Select the accounts that you want to unlink by clicking into the tick box to the left of the account name.
  4. Click on the Edit drop-down menu.
  5. Select Unlink.
  6. On the next page, you’ll get a preview of how your sub-accounts will be affected by the unlinking action. Once you’ve reviewed the changes, and if you approve, click Unlink.

To unlink an account from an individual Google Ads client account:

  1. In the Google Ads account, click the Admin icon Admin icon.
  2. Click Access and security.
  3. Click the Managers sub-page.
  4. Locate the manager account that you want to unlink from, and click Remove access in the Actions column.
  5. A dialogue will appear with a preview of how your sub-accounts will be affected by the unlinking action. After you've reviewed the changes, and if you approve, click Unlink.
