Create an ad schedule

An ad schedule allows you to display ads or change bids during certain times.

This article explains how to create a schedule for an ad.

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
  2. From the page menu on the left, click Ad schedule.
  3. Click the pencil icon Edit, then select a campaign to create an ad schedule for.
  4. Make your selections for specific days and times. Bear in mind that the ad schedule that you've set will be based on your account’s time zone. Therefore, you should adjust your ad schedule to account for any difference in your target customers' time zone. Learn more
  5. Click Save. You'll see your changes reflected on the Ad schedule page.
Note: You can create a maximum of 6 ad schedules per day for each campaign.

How to review your ad schedule

When you create an ad schedule, your ads will only be eligible to show during the times that you've specified. Your ad won’t show during the dates and times that aren't listed on your ad schedule. Make sure that your ad schedule includes all the days and times when you want your ad to be eligible to show. Here’s how to review your ad schedule:

  1. From the page menu on the left, click Ad schedule.
  2. From the table, select a campaign to see its ad schedule, performance and costs during its scheduled time slots.
  3. You’ll see a chart that shows the times on which your campaign’s ads showed. By default, the chart will show the number of clicks that your ads received.
    • To see your campaign’s impressions, CTR, average CPC or cost, select the metric that you’d like to see from the Clicks drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner.
    • Choose a subtab to review your ad schedule and performance by "Day and Hour", "Day", or "Hour".

How to edit your ad schedule

  1. From the page menu on the left, click Ad schedule
  2. From the table, select a campaign.
  3. To edit your ad schedule, click the pencil icon Edit.
    • To remove a time period, hover over that time period and click the “x”.
    • To adjust dates and times, click the dates or times that you’d like to change and select new ones.
    • To add a new date and time to your ad schedule, click Add
    • Click Save.

The ad schedule is based on a 12-hour or 24-hour clock. Therefore, to schedule an ad to run from the end of one day through a portion of the next day, you should create an ad schedule for each day. If you are using a 12-hour clock, for example, to run an ad from Monday 11:00 p.m. to Tuesday 7:00 a.m., your ad schedule for Monday should extend from 11:00 pm to 12:00 a.m., while your Tuesday ad schedule should run from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
