About dynamic callouts

Dynamic callouts are additional text assets that show automatically with your Search ads and help users instantly find out more about your products and services. Dynamic callouts require no setup and give the system more opportunities to show assets with your ads.

How they work

When users search for information on Google, they may be served ads and search results for similar or related web pages. To help them decide whether to visit your site, your ads may show relevant information about the products and services offered on your site before they click your ad.

An illustrated example of dynamic callouts in a search ad.

If an advertiser’s landing page mentions potentially useful information like “25 years of experience,” “Book online,” and “Certified technicians,” that information could automatically show with the ad text as dynamic callouts.

Dynamic callouts only show when they’re expected to boost your ad’s performance and may show alongside or instead of manually created callouts. You can control which callout assets are served by pausing or removing individual dynamic callout assets.

Benefits

Dynamic callouts:

  • Save you time: Since callout text reflects existing content found on your site, no additional work is required on your part.
  • Help users instantly find out more about your products and services: Dynamic callouts give visitors a preview of your products, services, and special offers before they click on your ad.
  • Potentially improve your return on investment: This additional information can increase your ads' relevance and clickthrough rates. This may help you improve your return on investment by focusing on attracting clicks from visitors who are more likely to be interested in what you offer.

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon Campaigns Icon.
  2. Click the Assets drop down in the section menu.
  3. Click Assets.
  4. Click the Callout summary card header for the type of asset.
  5. Filter by "Source" for "Automatically created".

Pause or remove individual dynamic callouts

If you don’t like a given dynamic callout that was created for you, you’re able to pause or remove it. Pausing a dynamic callout will prevent it from serving but keeps it available to be re-enabled. Removing a dynamic callout removes it completely so that it will not be able to serve again later on.

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon Campaigns Icon.
  2. Click the Assets drop down in the section menu.
  3. Click Assets.
  4. Click the Callout summary card header for the type of asset.
    • To pause or remove multiple callouts:
      1. Select the assets by clicking on the check box.
      2. Click on Pause or Remove on the blue bar at the top.
    • To pause or remove an individual callout:
      1. Select the individual asset in-line by clicking on the drop down next to the colored indicator.
      2. Select Pause or Remove.

While not recommended, you can also opt-out of all dynamic callouts if needed.

Note: The ability to pause or remove individual dynamic callout assets will be available once your callouts have been upgraded. Learn more About the assets upgrade.
Your eligible ads will also show performance metrics as usual through your existing search ad performance reports.
