Next, you'll create a feed, which is a collection of all the products or services that you want to advertise. Rows are products or services. Columns are attributes of each item, such as descriptions and prices. You'll create your feed as a .csv, .tsv, .xls, xlsx file and then upload it to Google Ads.

Are you a retail business? Use the Google Merchant Center instead to upload your product feed.

Create and upload a new feed

Note: The instructions below are part of the new design for the Google Ads user experience. To use the previous design, click the 'Appearance' icon, and select Use previous design. If you're using the previous version of Google Ads, review the Quick reference map or use the Search bar in the top navigation panel of Google Ads to find the page that you’re searching for.

To get started, create your feed offline as a .csv, .tsv, .xls or xlsx file and then upload it to your account's 'Business data' section. If you're a retail business, use the Google Merchant Center to upload your product feed.

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Tools icon Tools Icon.
  2. Click Business data.
  3. From the tabs at the top click Data feeds.
  4. Click the plus button Open Create menu icon and select Dynamic ad feed, then select your business type.
  5. Click Choose file and attach your feed file.
  6. Click on Apply.
Note: Check your feed for any errors after you've uploaded it. Image or address errors may not show up for 3–4 hours. Remember that there is a limit of 100 page feeds per account.
