Call ads (call-only ads) are being deprecated. To continue generating valuable phone call leads, you must transition to using call assets within responsive search ads.
Important
- February 2026: All options to create a new call-only ad will be removed.
- February 2027: All existing call-only ads will stop receiving impressions.
To ensure uninterrupted lead generation, we strongly recommend you to proactively transition your call-only ads to responsive search ads with call assets.
To complete the transition, follow these steps:
- Prepare your account
- Add your business name to your account or campaign settings.
- Add all relevant phone numbers as call assets, ensuring compliance with our policy.
- Create or modify responsive search ads
- Create or modify a responsive search ad in the desired ad group.
- Add call assets to the responsive search ads by selecting the "More Asset Types" option.
- Finalize and remove old ads
- After your new or modified responsive search ads is approved and begins performing, remove your old call ad.
