Create a Performance Max campaign with a third party partner

You can now create and view your Google Ads Performance Max campaigns in select third party platforms, which allows you to never need to leave the platform where you operate your business. This article explains what Performance Max campaigns are and who to contact for support.

Performance Max is powered by Google AI to generate campaign settings that help you get more value from your advertising. It's designed to complement your keyword-based Search campaigns to help you find more converting customers across all of Google's channels like YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail, and Maps.

For more information on leveraging Performance Max in Google Ads — and the ways you can reach new customers and grow your business with Google, refer to the Performance Max support resources in the Google Ads Help Center and our FAQs below specifically for information on integrating Google Ads with your party platform. Note that the features available are limited and dependent on the third party partner, so please contact your third party platform for a full list of what is available.

As you configure your Google Ads campaign, below you'll find some helpful information to help you get started:

FAQs

What campaign types can I set up in the third party platform?

Currently, the third party platform only supports creating Performance Max campaigns.

What features are in the embedded app now?

The embedded app has specific key features designed to help you, as a new advertiser, modify campaigns seamlessly after setup with minimal points of entry and context needed.

What features can I modify for my campaign in the third party platform?

Currently, you can create and complete set up of a Performance Max campaign in the third party platform. In addition, you can modify conversion goals, location, and budget in the platform. The platform primarily supports a base set of features. For other functions such as editing or adding keywords to campaigns, visit Google Ads to make these changes.

Why are there features in Google Ads that aren't available in my third party platform?

The most critical features are included in the third-party set-up flow with focus on ease of onboarding. We built a number of key foundational features, like modifying campaign status, conversion goals, location, and budget, and customers can move to the Google Ads front-end for additional product functionality.

I created my campaign on a third party platform, but I have a notification in my Google Ads account that my conversion was not set up. What should I do?

If you received a notification that your conversion wasn't set up, it's because you most likely received one of these conversion statuses:

  • Not recording - Unverified
  • Not recording - No recent conversions
  • Needs attention - Tag inactive
Conversion tracking in Google Ads is set up differently than conversion tracking in your third-party platform. That being said, conversion tracking in Google Ads should be set up but may take some time to update. To remedy this, if you would like to check and troubleshoot whether your conversions are set up properly, you can check on Tag Assistant.

I have a question about the campaign I set up on my third party platform. Who do I contact for help?
