Set up your Google tag with MonsterInsights (WordPress)

You can measure behavioural data about your site with Google Ads and Google Analytics. Follow the steps in this article to set up your Google Ads or Google Analytics account with MonsterInsights (WordPress).

Before you begin

You can integrate your Google Analytics account with MonsterInsights (WordPress) free of charge. If you’d like to set up additional features, an annual MonsterInsights (WordPress) subscription (from £99 GBP to £400 GBP) will provide the following benefits:

Instructions

If you've a tag ID starting with 'G-'

Note: MonsterInsights (WordPress) uses their own Google Analytics plugin that's installed separately from the base installation.
  1. Install MonsterInsights.
  2. Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then click Plugins.

  3. Search for 'MonsterInsights' and click Install Now.

  4. Once the plugin is downloaded and installed, go to the list of installed plugins. Under 'Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights', click Activate.

  5. Click Launch the Wizard from the landing page.

  6. Complete the setup wizard.

(Optional) implement Google Ads conversion tracking if you have a tag ID starting with 'AW-'

  1. Log in to your MonsterInsights WordPress account.
  2. Under 'Insights', click Settings, then click Publisher.

  3. Navigate to the 'Ads Tracking' section and paste your Google tag ID (For example: AW-123456789).
  4. Click Save changes at the top of the page.
Note: Don’t add more than one Google tag to each page of your website.
