Be ready for the holiday season with new ways to get your best deals on Google and measure performance

Searches for deals and discounts peak every year during the holiday shopping season. It’s more important than ever for businesses to connect people to the right deal at the right moment throughout the season.

This year, we’re building new ways for people to explore deals in Google Shopping and improving our reporting capabilities to help you better understand the performance of your deals.

To support businesses of all sizes, we’re also making it easier for businesses who already work with Shopify and Woo to get their holiday deals on Google.

Helping people find the right deals

Products with a deals badge will now appear in a new feed in the Shopping Tab to help you connect with deal-seeking shoppers during the holidays. 

People can find this feed when the "Deals" menu is selected on Google Shopping or with a new search experience that triggers for queries like “deals” or “black friday.” All products with a deals badge are automatically eligible for inclusion and will be highlighted based on the attractiveness of the offer and discount. 

Coupled with the previously announced “Deals related to your search” module and the deals carousel on Google Search, we are committed to doing more to help people find what they’re looking for, while helping businesses achieve their goals.

Helping you better measure the performance of your deals

In anticipation for the holiday season, you’ll see which of your products qualify for a deals badge (promotion, sale price, or price drop) right in the products tab within Merchant Center. 

In the dashboard below you’ll see that the performance of products with a deals badge is now broken out, with data on impressions, clicks and click-through rate. You can segment this data by promotion-type, product, brand and category. With this information, you’ll be able to understand your top performing promotions, the types of deals that are driving the most conversions, and the categories that are performing the best when on-sale.

By providing you with more granular data, you’ll be equipped with the information you need to better optimize your product assortment and promotions during moments of peak shopping demand.

Making it easier to get your best deals on Google 

To help more businesses scale their best deals to Google, Shopify and Woo businesses will now be able to showcase their existing deals across Google surfaces. 

Next month, businesses using Shopify's Google channel and Woo’s Google Listings and Ads will be able to show product promotions across Google Search and the Shopping tab. Businesses can sync existing and new promotions to their products listed on Google directly within their store dashboard.
