MyGlass accessibility

The MyGlass app is compatible with accessibility options including TalkBack (Android) and VoiceOver (iOS) on your mobile device. It describes out loud what you touch, select, and activate.

Turn on TalkBack

If you don’t have TalkBack installed on your device, you can download TalkBack on Google Play.
  1. Go to your Android device’s main Settings menu
  2. Under System, select Accessibility
  3. Under Services, touch TalkBack
  4. In the upper-right corner, touch the On/Off selector to turn TalkBack on or off

Navigate Glassware with TalkBack

  1. Open the MyGlass app
  2. Select the menu in the upper-left corner
    • With TalkBack, one touch will tell you what the item is. A double tap will select the item.
  3. Select Active Glassware
  4. Now you can explore your Glassware items with TalkBack. For example, by touching the Gmail Glassware, it will say “Gmail.”
    • Swipe down with one finger to hear the next Glassware item
    • Use two fingers to quickly scroll up and down your Glassware list

Turn on VoiceOver

  1. Go to your iPhone’s main Settings menu
  2. Select General
  3. Select Accessibility
  4. Under Vision, select VoiceOver
  5. Toggle on VoiceOver

Navigate Glassware with VoiceOver

  1. Open the MyGlass app
  2. Select the menu in the upper-left corner
    • With VoiceOver, one touch will highlight an item and tell you what it is. To select an item, touch it once to highlight, then double tap.
    • Sidebar menu items will be called “buttons.” Touch a button, then swipe right, and VoiceOver will describe the button (e.g. “Device,” “Contacts,” “Active Glassware,” etc.)
  3. Select Active Glassware
  4. Now you can explore your Glassware items with VoiceOver. For example, by touching the Gmail Glassware, it will say “Gmail.”
    • Swipe left to right with one finger to hear the next Glassware item
    • Swipe three fingers up and down to quickly scroll through your Glassware list
