Turn Glass on

To turn Glass on, press the power button for a moment. The white power LED behind the button will turn on and remain lit while Glass starts up. Once Glass boots, the display turns on, and a rising chime will sound.

Put Glass in an inactive state

To put Glass in an inactive state, press the power button while Glass is on. The screen will turn off and you'll hear a tone. An inactive state means Glass is still on, but the touchpad will lock, Glass will stop receiving phone calls, and will stop playing notification chimes. You can set Glass to automatically go into an inactive state whenever you take it off by enabling On Head Detection from the Settings bundle.

Turn Glass off

To turn Glass off, press the power button for a few seconds until a falling chime sounds.

Turn on the display

After a period of inactivity, the display will turn off. Glass is still on and active, but the screen is off mostly to conserve battery. To turn the display back on, gently tap on the touchpad or lift your head if the Head Wake Up feature is on.

Hard reset

If you ever need to fully power Glass down and restart the device: Hold the power button for 15 seconds. Then, press the power button for a few seconds to turn the device back on.
