About Glass Enterprise Edition 2

Glass Enterprise Edition 2 is designed to be an easy to use and comfortable to wear platform for tailored enterprise solutions, whether you develop your own software or are receiving it from a solution provider.

Explore the sections below to learn about the various pieces, parts, and functions of this ergonomic wearable device. For more information, go to FAQs for Glass Enterprise Edition 2.

Listen

All audio comes from an oval speaker on the inside of the battery pod, just behind your ear. When this speaker is flush to your head, you can hear sounds from your device such as notifications.

On / off

The power button is on the inner enclosure near the back of the device. Press it down firmly to power the device on and off. The power LED at the end of the enclosure lights up when Glass starts up, is charging, and when it powers down.

Touch

The side of the device next to your right temple is a touchpad. Swipe forward and backward to navigate through your application. Swipe down to go back or return to the Home screen.

Capture

There's a button on the hinge that can be programmed to trigger an event in your application, such as taking a picture or recording a video.

For more information, see the camera button overview.

See

The plastic cube just above your right eye is the display. The display shows you context-specific information, such as your next tasks or instructions.

Turn on the display

The display turns off after a period of inactivity. Glass is still on and active, but the screen is off to conserve battery. To turn the display back on, gently double tap on the touchpad.

Hard reset

If you need to fully power Glass down and restart the device, hold the power button for 15 seconds. Then, press the power button for a few seconds to turn the device back on.

Charge Glass

Glass Enterprise Edition 2 offers fast charging. It only takes 20 minutes for the device to be at least 50% charged. You can use any standard USB-C cable to charge your device. We recommend using a Google 18W USB-C Power Adapter (compliant to USB Power Delivery 2.0), although any USB compliant charger can charge Glass Enterprise 2.

Remote access / mirroring

To mirror your device or remotely operate it, we recommend that you use any standard Android 8.1-compatible casting application, like Vysor or scrcpy.

Simply plug Glass into your computer with a USB-C cable and allow USB debugging. Your Glass screen appears on your computer screen so you can demonstrate the application, remotely operate it, or access other features without a home screen launcher.

Settings

You can find more information in the instructions for how to manage settings.
