Update firmware

You can update the firmware on your Glass Enterprise Edition 2 device by using the Android Flash Tool.

Starting with firmware version OPM1.210124.001, an OTA update option is also available.

Android Flash Tool

To update the firmware on your device using the Android Flash Tool, visit the developers website and follow the provided instructions.

OTA update

To enter system update settings:

For firmware version OPM1.210425.001 or later:

  1. Open settings.
  2. Swipe forward until you see the System card.
  3. Tap to confirm selection.
  4. Swipe forward until you see the System update card.
  5. Tap to confirm selection.

For firmware version OPM1.210124.001:

  1. Open settings.
  2. Swipe forward until you see the About device card.
  3. Tap to confirm selection.
  4. Swipe forward until you see the System update card.
  5. Tap to confirm selection.

Perform a system update

To manually perform system updates:

  1. Tap on the Perform System Update card.
  2. Tap to check for new updates.
  3. If an update is available, tap to download and install it automatically.
  4. After the update is installed, a message will appear instructing you to reboot the device.

Update source location

By default, update source location points to storage.googleapis.com, which is managed by Google and provides the most recent updates.

You can change it by setting a different update location. You can find more information on the Glass developers website.

Automatic updates

You can enable and disable automatic firmware updates on the device. Tap on the Automatic Updates card and select the appropriate option.

Note: After installing firmware version OPM1.210124.001 or later, a prompt asking to enable or disable automatic software updates from Google will appear on the screen automatically when:

  • The device is turned on for the first time after flashing
  • After a factory reset
