You can discover YouTube videos and get answers about them in Gemini Apps. Gemini uses public information from YouTube to help you:

What you need
- Be signed in to the Gemini app. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
- Keep Activity on. This feature isn’t available when this setting is off.
Important:
- For now, this feature isn’t available in Live chats.
- This feature isn’t available in Gemini in Google Messages.
Find & ask about content on YouTube
You can ask Gemini to search for and tell you about YouTube videos, playlists, and channels.
- On your phone or tablet, open the Gemini mobile app
or go to gemini.google.com.
- Ask Gemini to find a video and then ask about it. Try this example prompt:
- Find videos of how to quickly get grape juice out of a wool rug.
Summarize the first video.
- Find videos of how to quickly get grape juice out of a wool rug.
What Gemini Apps can’t do with YouTube
For now, the following actions aren’t supported in Gemini Apps when it’s connected to YouTube:
- Show a comprehensive list of videos from your watch history, liked videos, saved playlists, subscribed channels.
- Take actions that impact your YouTube experience, like saving a video to a playlist or adding a comment on a video.
