Use Gemini in Chrome

With Gemini in Chrome, you can get AI assistance in your browser to easily get key takeaways, clarify concepts, find answers and more. To provide the most relevant responses, Gemini in Chrome uses content from your current browser tab. On a computer, you can also share up to 10 open tabs with Gemini.

Gemini in Chrome is a feature of Chrome and a separate experience from the Gemini web and mobile apps. With it, you can easily share page content with Gemini and get help while you browse.

What you need

Important: Gemini in Chrome is not available to all users at this time. We’re gradually releasing Gemini in Chrome, so it might not be available to you just yet.

To use Gemini in Chrome on your iPhone, you need to:

Be 18 or over and in the US.
Use the latest version of Chrome. Learn how to update Chrome.
Sign in to Chrome. This feature isn’t available in Incognito mode. Learn how to sign in to Chrome.
Have Chrome’s language set to English.

If you use Gemini in Chrome with a work or school Google Account, access must be enabled by your administrator. Learn more about using Gemini Apps with a work or school Google Account.

Chat with Gemini in Chrome

On your iPhone, open Chrome .
At the top of your browser, tap Page tools .
- You’ll need to opt in the first time you use Gemini in Chrome. To opt in, follow the onscreen instructions.
To start a chat, tap Ask Gemini .
- By default, your current page is shared with Gemini in Chrome. You can stop sharing the page anytime by tapping Stop sharing current page .

Tip: You can also start a chat with Gemini in Chrome by tapping More More Ask Gemini .

What you can do with Gemini in Chrome

After you opt in to Gemini in Chrome, a floating window will appear where you can chat directly with Gemini. For example, try asking Gemini in Chrome to:

Summarize key takeaways from an article
Explain a complex topic in a different way
Help you test your knowledge of a new subject you’re learning
Modify a recipe to meet dietary needs
Compare information or make recommendations based on your preferences

Manage your chat with Gemini in Chrome

In the Gemini in Chrome window, you can:

Stop sharing the page: on the page in the chat box, tap Stop sharing page .
Share the page: above the chat box, tap Ask about page.
Start a new chat: at the top, tap Start new chat .

Use suggestions to chat with Gemini in Chrome

When you chat with Gemini in Chrome, suggested actions may appear over the chat box. This includes things like:

Summarize page: Tap to get key takeaways and insights that help you understand any topic.
Create FAQ about this topic: Tap to get FAQs based on info from this page and similar sites.

If you tap a link in your chat, it opens a new tab. To continue your conversation, start Gemini over in the new tab or switch back to your previous tab.

If you don’t find Gemini in Chrome

Important: Gemini in Chrome is rolling out to users over time, so it may not be available in your country or territory yet.

If Gemini in Chrome is available in your country or territory, try these steps:

Sign in to your Chrome browser. Gemini in Chrome is not available in Incognito mode.
Use Chrome in English.
Use Chrome in the US and have a US-based Google Account.
Update your Chrome browser to the latest version. Learn how to update Chrome.

If Gemini in Chrome still doesn’t show, try restarting your Chrome browser.

Report a problem or send feedback about Gemini in Chrome

At the top of the Gemini in Chrome window, tap More Settings Send feedback.
Enter a description of the problem or your feedback.
Optionally, add a screenshot to help us better understand the issue.
At the top, tap Send .

Your feedback helps make Gemini Apps more helpful, accurate, and safe.

To give feedback on a response:

At the top of the Gemini in Chrome window, tap More Good response or Bad response .
For a bad response, you can select a reason.
- For example, If you get a response that you feel is unsafe, you can select Offensive / Unsafe.

To report a legal issue, at the top of the Gemini in Chrome window, tap More Settings Report legal issue .
