Add and customise your Gemini widget

You can start chats with Gemini faster with shortcuts on your home screen or lock screen. With a Gemini widget, you can:

• Open Gemini with
• Open directly to Gemini Live with .
• Open Gemini and the microphone so that you can say your prompt
• Open the camera in Gemini to take a picture
• Open Files to upload a file in Gemini
• Open your images to upload a photo

What you need

To use Gemini widgets, make sure that:

1. Your device has Android 10 or up.
2. You’ve downloaded the Gemini app from the Google Play Store.

Add the Gemini widget to your home screen

1. On your Android device, touch and hold the home screen.
2. Tap Widgets.
3. Search for the Gemini app .
4. Add the Gemini widget to your home screen.

Customise your Gemini widget 

1. On your Android device, touch and hold the Gemini widget.
2. Drag your widget to change its size or placement.
   • To resize your widget, drag the edge.
   • To change the widget’s placement on your home screen, drag the widget.
   • To remove the widget from your home screen, drag it to Remove.
