Edit images with Nano Banana 2
Important: Editing images isn't available to users under 18.
With Nano Banana 2, there are a few ways that you can edit images. For example, you can:
- Edit an image that you generated in Gemini Apps.
- Upload an image and ask Gemini to make edits.
- Upload multiple images and ask Gemini to create a new image based on your uploaded images.
- Go to gemini.google.com.
- In the text box at the bottom, enter your prompt.
- Tip: You can upload an image to edit or ask Gemini to edit a generated image.
- Click Submit

Redo an image with Nano Banana Pro
Paid subscribers can use Nano Banana Pro to regenerate an image. Nano Banana Pro can provide additional detail, especially for images that use text rendering or for infographics. To use Nano Banana Pro:
- Create an image with Nano Banana 2.
- At the bottom right, click More

Tips for image generation prompts
- Start your prompt with words like draw, generate and create.
- Describe the image style that you want. Here are a few examples: photorealistic, charcoal drawing, watercolour painting, cartoon illustration.
- Include a detailed visual description of what you want in the image. This can include the subject of the image, what the subject is doing and the background or setting.
How image generation works with Personal Intelligence
You can ask Gemini to create or edit highly personalised images using Personal Intelligence. With your permission, Gemini can understand and retrieve info from across your Google apps, past chats and more to understand your unique style, life and preferences. It then uses the latest Nano Banana model to create and edit images that are tailored entirely to you.

Gemini can use the labels that you’ve set up in Google Photos to identify people and pets to generate images of them with Nano Banana.
