Type with your voice

On your mobile device, you can talk to write in most places where you can type with a keyboard.

Note: Gboard is available for iPhones and iPads with iOS 9 and up.

Note: Talk-to-text doesn't work with all languages.

Talk to write

1. On your iPhone or iPad, install Gboard.
2. Open any app where you can type, such as Gmail or Keep.
3. Tap an area where you can enter text.
4. Touch and hold the Microphone .
5. When you see 'Speak now', say what you want to be written.

Add punctuation

You can use different phrases to add punctuation to your text. Punctuation might not be available in all languages.

Some phrases that you can use are:

• Full stop
• Comma
• Exclamation mark
• Question mark
• New line
• New paragraph

Replace a word

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the document or message with the word that you want to change.
2. Touch and hold the word.
3. Touch and hold the Microphone .
4. When you see 'Speak now', say the new word.
