The management and storage of your data in Gemini Enterprise – Business edition depends on your subscription type and whether you are signed in to an account.
Storage for users without a signed-in account
Data for free tier users who are not logged in is managed within a single, multi-tenant Google Cloud project.
Storage for signed-in and paid users
For logged-in users, data benefits from enhanced persistence and account-based association. Gemini Enterprise – Business edition creates a dedicated Managed Consumer Project for each user.
-
Account linking: All data—including prompts, responses, file uploads, and complete conversation history is linked to your Gemini Enterprise – Business edition account.
-
Interaction continuity: Unlike anonymous access, you can reliably retrieve and resume previous sessions across different browser instances.
-
Standardized experience: This approach provides a data persistence experience similar to the Gemini Enterprise Standard edition.
Data retention
Your data retention period in Gemini Enterprise – Business edition depends on your subscription status and account actions.
-
Active subscription: Your chats are retained for a period of 60 days during active use.
-
Post-cancellation preservation: Your chats and complete conversation history are retained for 60 days, and inactive chat sessions are automatically deleted after this period. When your subscription ends, your data isn't deleted immediately. Your account enters a temporary state where your data is preserved. However, you won't be able to interact with or access that data until you renew your subscription or upgrade.
-
Account deletion: If you explicitly delete your account, all your data is wiped out within 60 days.
