Custom parameter reporting

Define custom parameters for your events.

Google Analytics for Firebase allows you to specify 25 parameters with each logged event. You can then identify up to 50 total event parameters (40 numeric and 10 textual) for which you would like to see reporting by registering those parameters with their corresponding events. Once your custom parameters have been registered, Google Analytics for Firebase will display a corresponding card showing the data in each event detail report.

To add custom parameters to an event:

  1. In Google Analytics for Firebase, select the Events tab to open the Events page.

  2. In the row for the event you want to add custom parameters to, click More > Edit parameter reporting.
  3. In the Enter parameter name field, enter the name of the parameter you'd like to add.
    If a match is found, select it in the list and click ADD.
    If no match is found, click ADD, then enter the parameter name.
  4. Set the Type field to Text or Number. For numeric parameters, set the Unit of Measurement field.
  5. Click SAVE then click CONFIRM.

On the Events page, any event with parameters has a gray box next to the event name with the number of parameters assigned to that event.

To edit parameters:

  1. In the row for the event, click More > Edit parameter reporting.
  2. Add new parameters per the instructions above, or click Delete to remove a parameter.
  3. Click SAVE, then click CONFIRM.

     

Global parameter-report quotas appear at the bottom of the list of parameters. As you enter parameters, the quota number count updates. After a quota has been reached, the quota count appears in red.

When you first set up custom parameters, a data card for each parameter is added to your event-detail report. However, it may take up to 24 hours for any data to appear.
