Move files to a new folder in Internal storage

You can move files to a new folder on your device.

Move files from Categories section

  1. On your Android device, open Files by Google Files by Google.
  2. At the bottom, tap Browse Browse.
  3. Under "Categories," select a category.
  4. Find the folder with the files you want to move.
  5. Find the files you want to move in the selected folder.
    • To move one file:
      1. Next to the file, tap More More.
    • To move multiple files:
      1. At the top right, tap More More and then Select.
      2. Next to each file you want to move, check the circle.
      3. At the top right, tap More More and then Move to.
  6. Choose where you want to create a new folder and then Add new folder.
  7. Enter folder name in the pop-up.
  8. Tap Move to folder.

Move files from Storage devices section

  1. On your Android device, open Files by Google Files by Google.
  2. At the bottom, tap Browse Browse.
  3. Scroll to "Storage devices."

  4. Tap Internal storage.

  5. Find the folder with the files you want to move.
  6. Find the files you want to move in the selected folder.
    • To move one file:
      1. Next to the file, tap More More.
    • To move multiple files:
      1. At the top right, tap More More and then Select.
      2. Next to each file you want to move, check the circle.
      3. At the top right, tap More More and then Move to.
  7. Choose where you want to create a new folder and then Add new folder.
  8. Enter folder name in the pop-up.
  9. Tap Move to folder.
