Manage your favorite files

To easily access frequently used files, you can mark them as “favorite.”
Important: If you uninstall and reinstall the app, you need to mark your files as “favorite” again.

Mark files as Favorites

  1. On your Android device, open Files by Google app Files by Google.
  2. At the bottom, tap Browse Browse.
  3. Find the files you want to mark as Favorite.
  4. If you can’t find the Down arrow Down arrow next to the file, tap List view List.
    • To mark one file as Favorite:
      1. Tap the Down arrow Down arrow and then Add to Favorites.
    • To mark multiple files as Favorites:
      1. Tap the Down arrow Down arrow and then Select.
      2. Next to each file you want to move, check the circle.
      3. At the top, tap More More and then Add to Favorites.
  5. At the bottom, you’ll find a confirmation message “Added to Favorites.”
  6. Files that are marked as Favorite is represented with Star Favorites.
  7. To find files marked as favorites, tap Browse and then Collections and then Favorites.

Unmark files as Favorites

  1. On your Android device, open Files by Google app Files by Google.
  2. At the bottom, tap Browse Browse.
  3. Select the file you want to remove from Favorites.
  4. Tap Menu More and then Remove from Favorites.
Tip: You can also remove your favorite files from the “Favorites” folder.
