Quality of Service (QoS) or device priority 1 Recommended Answer 14 Replies 58 Upvotes

How do I prioritize devices that are connected to my Google Fiber Network Box?  I have about 6 devices connected but I want to control which device is prioritized.  Ideally I would like to set limits on what the speed capabilities are while other devices are in use.  Is this possible?

Are...are you serious?
This and the lack of WPS button make this the most pathetic router ever. Google gets a lot right, but not their routers.
Not sure if it's because of interfering signals in my complex, but this is the most spotty and unreliable internet I've ever used, on top of its missing features. (You can't enable site filtering either.)

I tend to disagree with the comments in this thread. We're talking Fiber speeds here. If everything is setup correctly, and there's not some other factor impacting your upload/download speeds, QOS is simply not needed. And the lack of a WPS button is not an issue as that particular feature is actually a security issue. My Google Fiber here in San Antonio is absolutely the best Internet service I've every had, and I've had everything from dial-up to DSL, cable, and satellite. We're a family of five and we each have three devices always connected when we're home; plus I run multiple server applications including a Plex server that I used to stream media to my mobile devices and Chromebook when away from home. We also stream YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, Netflix, and more into our TV and other devices simultaneously while home. With Google Fiber, we never experience any buffering problems or video quality issues. In the past, we've always had issues with other ISPs. Now, if we ever decide to move, we're definitely not going anywhere Google Fibre is not available!
