-----------------------------

Cable TV providers generally offer some type of TV ad delivery as part of their local services.

This is what allows you to see ads for nearby businesses - like the car dealership downtown

or the neighborhood flower shop. In the next few weeks, we’ll be starting a small trial of this

type of capability with our Fiber TV subscribers in Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO.

These ads will show during existing ad breaks, along with national ads, on live TV

and DVR-recorded programs.

Fiber TV ads will be digitally delivered in real time and can be matched based on geography,

the type of program being shown (eg, sports or news), or viewing history. You can opt out of

seeing ads that are based on viewing history from the Fiber TV settings.

If you’re a local business in Kansas City, just as with digital ads, you’ll only pay for ads that

have been shown, and can limit the number of times an ad is shown to a given TV.

We’re excited to see how this test progresses, and we’re looking forward to hearing from local businesses

and viewers along the way. Please post your thoughts and feedback below!

Thanks,

Google Fiber Team

How will pricing work for this test?  What will be the per viewed rate?

Also, will this work by an advertiser locally in KC give you a budget and an audience demo they want to hit and you run commercials to the HH's that make the most sense based on demo info until the budget is hit?

Thanks!

Hi!

Our agency has former Googlers, experience with In-Stream video, and customers eager to give this a try. Can we be a part of this test?

Thanks!

I don't mind the local ads but when I watch ESPN or something similar just to get caught up on the scores via the ticker it would be annoying when the local ads came on.  Is there anyway to still show any tickers that may be running through commercials while airing the ads?
