Set caller and privacy preferences

Fiber Phone lets you specify the types of incoming calls you'll accept and when you'll accept them. For example, you can schedule days and times you want to receive calls, silence your phone completely, or forward incoming calls to another number.

Specify calls you'll accept
  1. Sign in to Fiber using the email and password you use for your Fiber account.

  2. Select Phone at the top-left corner. (Selections are displayed without a navigation menu if your browser window is enlarged.)

  3. In the Calls & Call Forwarding section, select the type of incoming calls you'll accept on your phone.

    • Everyone. All calls ring on your phone.

    • Only People with Caller ID Enabled. Only calls that display caller ID information.

    • Only my Contacts. People in your Contacts list from gmail or Hangouts.

    • My Starred Contacts. People you have starred in your Contacts list from gmail or the Hangouts app.

Set Caller ID options

You can set caller ID options for both incoming and outgoing calls. Incoming options are set on the Phone settings page in your Fiber account, and outgoing options are set in Google Voice, which you can access on the Phone settings page in your Fiber account.

Incoming caller ID options

On incoming calls, the Caller ID with name option displays names from your Google Contacts and Google Maps (in addition to the telephone number). This option is enabled by default, and can be disabled on the Phone settings page.

To disable or enable caller ID with name:

  1. Sign in to Fiber using the email and password you use for your Fiber account.

  2. Select Phone from the navigation menu at the left. (Selections are displayed without a navigation menu if your browser window is enlarged.)

  3. On the Phone settings page, click Caller ID; then click the checkbox to either enable or disable Caller ID with name.

Enable or disable caller ID in Google Fiber Phone settings.

Outgoing caller ID options

When you make a call from your Fiber Phone number, the receiving device displays your number and any stored information associated with it, for example your name. If the receiving device does not contain any stored information about your number, only your phone number is displayed.

While there isn't a setting to automatically suppress information from all outbound calls, you can do so for each individual call you make. To suppress your information so, press *67 before dialing an outbound number.
