From your phone or computer

When Fiber Phone is set up and active in your home, you can make and receive calls on your home phone, mobile phone, or computer.

Home phone

On your home phone, use your handset.

  • Local calls in your area code: Dial a 7-digit number.

  • Calls outside of your area code: Dial (1) + 3-digit area code + 7-digit phone number.

  • International calls: Dial 011 + country code + number.

International calls made from your home phone are charged to your Google Fiber account.

Mobile phone

To make and receive calls on your mobile phone, you use the Hangouts app.

Android

iOS

International calls made from your mobile phone require a credit in Google Voice.

Computer

You can make and receive calls on your computer using Hangouts, either within Gmail or in a web browser.

From Hangouts in Gmail:

  1. Sign into your Gmail account. Hangouts appears in the lower-left corner of the window.

  2. Click the phone icon under Hangouts to display the search box.

  3. Type a phone number or name in the search box; then select Call.

From Hangouts in a browser:

  1. From your browser, go to Hangouts.

  2. Click the phone icon to display the search box.

  3. Type a phone number or name in the search box; then select Call.

To learn about everything you can do using Hangouts, go to the Hangouts help center.

If you're placing an international call, select the country code by clicking the flag drop-down menu or by typing it into the search box (for example, +55 for Brazil). International calls made from your computer require a credit in Google Voice.
