Change your Wi-Fi network name with the Google Fiber app

You can use the Google Fiber app to change the name of your Wi-Fi network.

If you have a Google Wifi or Nest Wifi Pro router, you can change your Wi-Fi network name in the Google Home app.

To change your Wi-Fi network name:

  1. Touch Network  .
  2. Touch Edit Network Settings.

  3. Touch the Primary network name field and change it to the new name you want.

    The SSID is case-sensitive and must be 1 to 32 characters long.
  4. If you want, you can create a separate network name for your 5 Ghz network.
  5. Touch Save. An alert asks you to confirm the changes.
  6. Touch Confirm to proceed with changing the name. The settings take effect immediately.

If the device you're using is connected wirelessly to your GFiber network, you must reconnect using the new network name.
