Set screensaver and other timers

This article applies to customers who have the new version of Fiber TV. If you have the older version of our user interface, please view this article on how to set the screensaver timer.

You can set timers that specify when your screensaver starts and how long the Info bar at the bottom of the screen appears when you're not using it.

To change your timer settings:

  1. Press  on the remote control, select Settings, and press ok.

  2. Select Timers and press ok to display the Timers Settings page.

Set screensaver or timers on Google Fiber TV

  3. Set any of the following options:
    Idle Timer

Indicates whether you want Fiber TV to show a screensaver or turn off the TV Box if it detects you're not watching or using your television. You can use the Screensaver Timer to set the minimum amount of time that elapses before Fiber TV determines there's no activity.

If you disable this timer, Fiber TV takes no action and the Screensaver Timer is disabled.

Info Bar Timer Indicates how long the Info bar appears at the bottom of the screen after you press on the remote while watching live TV, a recorded show, or video on demand. You can set this timer from 3 seconds to 1 minute.
    Screensaver Timer

Indicates the minimum amount of time Fiber TV waits to display the screensaver or turn off the TV Box when it detects there's no activity on your television, depending on what's selected for the Idle Timer. If the Idle Timer set to Disabled, the Screensaver Timer has no effect and is also disabled.

Note: The screensaver image is built into Fiber TV and can't be replaced with other images.
