Watch live TV

When you turn on your TV and TV Box, it starts playing the show that's currently being broadcast on the last channel you watched. 

To get information about the show that's playing:

  1. Press  on the remote control to display the Info bar.

    You can customize the length of time the Info bar stays on the screen.
  2. To see more details about the show, including the cast and crew and an episode guide for a series, select More Info and press ok to display the More Info page.

To change the channel:

Can't change the channel? If your DVR is currently recording eight shows, and you try to switch to a channel that's not being recorded, you'll see a message that all tuners are in use. In this case, you can watch any of shows being recorded, other recordings, or content in the On Demand library. To watch a different channel, you can cancel one of the recordings.

Frequently asked questions about watching live TV

Can I watch live TV on my computer or mobile device?

Yes you can! Here are two ways:

  • Use the Google Fiber TV app for Android and iOS. Note, however, that only some content is available in the app, and you'll need to be connected to your home Fiber network to watch it.

  • Use TV Everywhere, which lets you access live content on many networks' websites and mobile apps, even when you're away from home.

Does Fiber TV provide recommendations for live TV programs?

Yes, the Recommendations page provides suggestions for live programs based on what you like to watch.

Can I change the font size on my TV screen?

Yes, you can adjust the font size of the on-screen guide on the Guide Settings page.

How do I adjust the picture size?

If you see black bars on the top and bottom or sides of the image, you can stretch or zoom in on the image. In addition, you can set the aspect ratio for the proportions of your TV's screen (4:3 or 16:9).

If the video image doesn't fit your screen correctly, you can adjust it using the User Interface Position & Size utility.

Can I customize the on-screen guide?

Yes, you can create custom program guides with only the channels you're interested in.
