Upgrade your installed service plan

If you want to upgrade your Google Fiber service after it is installed in your home, you have several options. (You can also upgrade your service before it's installed.)

Fiber 100 to Fiber 1000
  • Fiber 1000 selection includes 1 terabyte of Google Drive storage across Gmail, Drive, and G+ Photos.

  • Your Fiber 1000 service will be activated shortly after submitting your plan change.

  • No installation appointment is necessary.

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you will see a prorated charge for Fiber  1000 for the current month in addition to the Fiber 1000 charge for the next month.

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees.

Fiber 100 to Fiber 1000 + TV
  • Your new plan includes the addition of a Google Fiber Storage Box or replacement of your Network Box with a Network+ Box and one or more TV Boxes.

  • The Fiber 1000 + TV plan also includes 1 terabyte of Google Drive storage across Gmail, Drive, and G+ Photos. 

  • After selecting an upgrade online, please contact Google Fiber customer support to schedule your upgrade installation.

  • Your Fiber 1000 service starts on the day of your upgrade, and your TV service is activated on the day it's installed.

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you will see a prorated charge for Fiber 1000 + TV for the current month in addition to the Fiber 1000 + TV charge for the next month. (Billing for Fiber 1000 service starts the day you change your plan, and billing for your TV service starts on the day it is activated/installed.)

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees.

Fiber 1000 to Fiber 1000 + TV
  • Your new plan includes the addition of a Google Fiber Storage Box or replacement of your Network Box with a Network+ Box and one or more TV Boxes.

  • After selecting an upgrade online, please contact Google Fiber customer support to schedule your upgrade installation.

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you will see a prorated charge for Fiber 1000 + TV for the current month in addition to the Fiber 1000 + TV charge for the next month.

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees.

Basic and Broadband plans

The Basic and Broadband plans are available in specific locations based on eligibility. If you currently have either plan, you can upgrade to another service plan at any time.

Basic to Broadband

  • Fiber Broadband provides 25 Mbps upload and download speeds.

  • Your Broadband service will be activated shortly after submitting your plan change.

  • No installation appointment is necessary for this upgrade.

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you'll see a prorated charge for Broadband for the current month in addition to the Broadband charge for the next month.

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees. If you cancel your service, you'll need to return your equipment to a Fiber Space within 25 days of cancelling to avoid a replacement fee (including any applicable taxes).

Basic to Fiber 100

  • Fiber 100 provides up to 100 Mbps upload and download speeds.

  • If you currently have a Network Box, your Fiber 100 service will be activated shortly after submitting your plan change.

    If you currently have a Mini Network Box, an upgrade to a Network Box is required. Please contact Google Fiber customer support to schedule your upgrade appointment.

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you'll see a prorated charge for Fiber 100 starting from the day your service starts in addition to the Fiber 100 charge for the next month.

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees. If you cancel your service, you'll need to return your equipment to a Fiber Space within 25 days of cancelling to avoid a replacement fee (including any applicable taxes).

Basic to Fiber 1000 or Fiber 1000 + TV

  • Fiber 1000 and Fiber 1000 + TV provide 1,000 Mbps upload and download speeds.

  • If you currently have a Network Box, your Fiber 1000 service will be activated shortly after submitting your plan change.

    If you currently have a Mini Network Box, an upgrade to a Network Box is required. Please contact Google Fiber customer support to schedule your upgrade appointment.

  • If you're upgrading to Fiber 1000 + TV, you'll need to schedule an installation appointment to install one or more TV Boxes. (If applicable, the upgrade to a Network Box and the installation of TV Boxes can be completed during the same appointment.)

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you'll see a prorated charge for Fiber 1000 or Fiber 1000 + TV starting from the day your service starts in addition to the Fiber 1000 or Fiber 1000 + TV charge for the next month.

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees. If you cancel your service, you'll need to return your equipment to a Fiber Space within 25 days of cancelling to avoid a replacement fee (including any applicable taxes).

Broadband to Fiber 100

  • Fiber 100 provides up to 100 Mbps upload and download speeds.

  • The Fiber 100 upgrade requires an installation appointment to upgrade your Mini Network Box to a Network Box.

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you'll see a prorated charge for Fiber 100 starting the day your service starts in addition to the Fiber 100 charge for the next month.

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees. If you cancel your service, you'll need to return your equipment to a Fiber Space within 25 days of cancelling to avoid a replacement fee (including any applicable taxes).

Broadband to Fiber 1000 or Fiber 1000 + TV

  • Fiber 1000 and Fiber 1000 + TV provide up to 1,000 Mbps upload and download speeds.

  • This upgrade requires an installation appointment to upgrade your Mini Network Box to a Network Box. Please contact Google Fiber customer support to schedule your appointment. If you're upgrading to Fiber 1000 + TV, you can schedule the upgrade of your Mini Network Box and the installation of your TV Box or boxes during the same appointment.

  • Billing:

    • On your next bill, you'll see a prorated charge for Fiber 1000 or Fiber 1000 + TV starting from the day your service starts, in addition to the Fiber 1000 or Fiber 1000 + TV charge for the next month.

    • All charges are subject to applicable taxes and fees. If you cancel your service, you'll need to return your equipment to a Fiber Space within 25 days of cancelling to avoid a replacement fee (including any applicable taxes).

About upgrades

  • If you're upgrading to Fiber 1000 + TV, or adding Fiber Phone to your existing plan, you'll be redirected to set up your service and schedule your installation appointment from your Fiber account.
  • If you're upgrading from Broadband to Fiber 100, Fiber 1000, or Fiber 1000 + TV, you'll need to schedule an appointment to upgrade your Mini Network Box to a Network Box.
  • If you're upgrading from Basic to Fiber 100, Fiber 1000, or Fiber 1000 + TV, and you have a Mini Network Box, you'll need to schedule an installation appointment to upgrade to a Network Box.

To upgrade your service plan:

  1. Sign in to Fiber using the email and password you use for your Fiber account. Your Account page appears.

  2. Click Manage Plan. The Plan Details page appears.

  3. From the Overview section, click Change plan, select the plan you want, and then click Continue. (For a summary of a plan, click the  next to it.)

  4. If you select the Fiber 1000 + TV plan, the TV Packages screen appears. (If you didn't select Fiber 1000 + TV, go to step 7. ) 

  5. Select any premium packages you want and click Continue. The New Devices screen appears.

  6. Select the number of TV Boxes you want and click Continue.

  7. Optionally, add or remove Fiber Phone.

  8. Optionally, add or remove streaming services.

  9. Review your changes. If you want to change anything, click Edit next to the item and make the change.

  10. When you confirm that the changes are correct, click the blue links in the acceptance box to read the terms and conditions.

  11. If you agree to the terms and conditions, click all the boxes and then click Submit. After clicking Submit, a message appears on your Account page to indicate the status of your upgrade.

If you change your mind:

If you upgrade your service plan, but subsequently decide to keep your existing plan, you can cancel the pending change. From your account page, click Manage Plan, and then click Cancel request.
