Download SpeedTest by Ookla

  • Update the device with the latest version of the operating system and browser.
  • Click the link below to download the desktop app.
  • If you are unable to use the desktop version, open your browser and go to https://speedtest.net to test the speed of your internet. Read about supported browsers. Note that most browsers max out at about 3 Gbps, so a browser-based test may not show your full 5 Gig speed.

Perform a Speed Test

  1. For best results, close all applications and other devices before running the speed test.

  2. Use a wired ethernet connection to obtain maximum speed. If you don't have an ethernet connection, you can perform the speed test with a wireless connection.

  3. Access the SpeedTest by Ookla from your desktop or browser.

  4. If you have pop-ups blocked, the speed test may not appear when you click the speed test link. If this occurs, unblock pop-ups temporarily to display the speed test page.
  5.  Click the GO button to start the test. Ensure you're connected to Google Fiber's speed test server by clicking "Change Server" for the best results.Google speed test

  6. View the results of your upload and download speeds.
