Awesome. Thank you for the answer! One more question, is there a limit on how long I can be out of the country with my service? I'm in Germany the majority of the year as a student, but it would be great if I could keep my US number.

Google doesn't say exactly but you may want to read the terms.
The part that says Welcome to Google Fi
Under the section that says Using the services.
it says ...
The Services are offered only to residents of the United States. The Services must be primarily used in the United States and are not intended for extended international use. Further, the Services are designed for use predominantly within our network. If your usage outside our network is excessive, abnormally high, or cause us to incur too much cost, we may, at our option and sole discretion, suspend your Google Fi account, terminate your service, or limit your use of roaming.

Please what countries are google fi 4G speed avilable in it ?

The FAQ simply states that high speed access is available and lists those countries.  I am not aware of a list maintained guaranteeing 4G coverage in particular countries.  Even in the United States, their is 4G coverage but there are areas where only 3G access is availabke due to variances such as distant towers or terrain issues.

For international coverage, Fi partners with one or more of the leading mobile carriers in each country. Your network speed is contingent on what those carriers offer. You can check with customer support before you travel to find out who the carrier is, and what APN(s) you should use if you have problems with automatic connection.
I've traveled a fair amount, and in my experience, automatic connection usually works flawlessly and performance is good. For most destinations, as soon as I take my phone out of airplane mode, I get "Welcome to XXX" stating the country I'm in. The only time I had to jigger the APN was when I traveled from London to Bath and service went away. I used WiFi to call customer support to get the APN.
