The other party in phone calls cannot hear my voice.  The audio cuts in and out or is only noise. 

The microphones on my primary device work correctly as Google Assistant can understand me in all situations.

Using an external microphone (Bluetooth or wired) does not resolve the issue.  

Safe mode does not resolve the issue.  

Turning on and off Bluetooth does not resolve the issue. 

Changing networks does not resolve the issue, nor does disabiling WiFi calling. 

Uninstalling the Fi app, reinstalling, and reactivating my SIM does not resolve the issue. 

All volume settings are at maximum. 

There is no case or other object around my device that could obstruct the microphone. 

I am using a Moto x4.

Possibly notable: in previous versions of Android, we could disable the voice security setting for Fi, but this is no longer possible in Android 9.

Hello. 

That was one of the troubleshooting steps Google support recommended.  I wish you would not suggest it so lightly, Android does not store previous versions like other OS so a reset can't fix a problem introduced by a system update and is a major inconvenience.

Your gonna have to do it eventually if you want them to consider a replacement phone

Sometimes updates, whether they are security updates or Android system upgrades, can adversely effect the either a phone’s operation or the functionality of an app.  On rare occasions, a factory reset is needed to correct the issue.  I have had the need to twice perform a reset to correct performance problems with Google Fi phones.  While it’s cumbersome to go through the process, as Scott suggested you should consider this.
