Pixel 3 XL and Android 11, the new screenshot feature and chat bubble feature are not working.

ItI've just spent an hour and a half with Google Fi support trying to turn on the new bubble feature for chat. Also trying to figure out how to use the new screenshot feature. Neither of which seem to be working.

It's my understanding for the screenshot feature that I should hold the center button on the screen and scroll up to reveal the most recent apps, and on the left should be a screenshot option. That option does not appear. Attached is a screenshot showing the recent apps menu, as it displays there is no screenshot select or share option.

I've also turned on the chat bubble feature, and started a new chat with another pixel, Google Fi user and the chats appear in the same chat screen not in a floating bubble screen.

I had to change my settings to gesture navigation to get the no-button option for screenshot to work properly. The only other option is holding down the power and down-volume buttons at the same time. That's overly complicated and a downgrade for many of us that liked just holding the power button on its own.

Any idea when it will be available with 2-button navigation? Or at least enable the "hold power button" back?

For me :
1. I hate 3 button / gesture navigation
2. Can't really say "Ok Google, Take a screenshot" while on a meeting &/or in public

Let's just hope it's only a bug that will be fixed soon... Because Vol Down + Power button is one of the most un-doable thing to do with only one hand. Let's say right now I don't feel like it's "More convenient than ever"...

(I'm on Pixel3)

Ok, I finally tried doing something. If you go to the accessibilities gestures in your settings change it to three button. Once you do this you can tap on the square on the right side and you will have the options to screenshot or select.

Similar problem here with respect to screenshots on Google Pixel 3 post update. Another user suggested changing the gesture settings to 3 button. Once changed, the right side button at the bottom of the display presents a screenshot option... well, it did for me. good luck

Ok, so you have to have gesture navigation enabled. I had two-button navigation enabled.
I guess I'm going to have to get used to not having a back button and learn to use the gesture.
As a plus, I guess I have slightly more screen realestate now.

Seconding Sean's observation:
the new menu appears if you enable gesture navigation in settings  (I had two button navigation on - switching enabled the screenshot menu)

I'm also using pixel3 and hate this update, I can't screenshot using the power button anymore, and I need to launch nova launcher everytime to bypass that google home screen, such a pain, everything was fine before this crappy update

Settings > System > Gestures > System Navigation > 3-button navigation

Should give you a square icon at the bottom of your screen which allows you to take screenshots and grab screen text.

I honestly hate the new screenshot method, not only has every method that involves swiping or holding the home button to say take a screenshot doesn't work without additional stupid setup but the amount of times I have tried to take a screenshot the old way and end up having to try to hold down 2 buttons usually with both hands only to achieve something one hand holding down one button and tapping the screen with the same hand could achieve previously.

Google, your new screenshot method is terrible and I want to go back to my previous android version so please contact me to help me reverse this update...i really don't see it as an update, the only changes I have noticed is the terrible screenshot method, the added screen touches to get to my other cards in Google pay and larger text message notifications which I should add I have never missed previously when it was 2 font sizes smaller.

If I knew you would do this I would have stuck with Microsoft Mobile!!!

May have found a fix, hopefully a temporary one and a better solution on the way!  I run a Pixel 3a XL.  Sorry if someone else posted this, I didn't scroll through all 98 replies.  Go to Settings, Accessibility, then Accessibility Menu and enable it.  There is now a small icon to the right of the home icon with some tools for Assistant, Power, volume, brightness and more.  On the second page (swipe left) there should be an icon for Screenshot.  At least this is easier than the multi-button or gesture option.  I haven't found how to reorganize the icons though. Hope that's possible.
