I just got a notification that Group Repay is going away? Why is Google taking away something that works? This sounds stupid and inane to take away something where they system automatically notifies people of what they are owed and they can pay me??

Given limited usage, we’ll be winding down Group repay. Group owners will have the option to use the Google Pay app. You can still see the amount each member owes you via the breakdown in their Fi bill, and you can use Google Pay (or a different repayment app) to request payments from your group members on a monthly basis."

Was this feature really that complicated and expensive to maintain for the number of people that use it? It was a great way to get people into Google Pay, and extremely convenient for my household.

This type of removal makes me trust Google less and less as it keeps happening across their products. What can I actually depend on Google to maintain? It seems like I can't depend on them for anything.

This was a huge feature for me and my family.  Disappointed at having it shutdown so abruptly and offering a manual process as a solution demonstrates a lack of empathy for the customer.

It's not really abrupt. It's about 6 or 7 weeks notice

I have ADHD, and this feature helped me be a group owner without much overhead. I greatly appreciated the feature, and am disappointed that google is discontinuing it.

I already submitted the same through the feedback system - but also concurring that this feature was really useful, and it doesn't make sense to me that it's being dropped - unless Google is not planning on supporting Google Fi moving forward generally.

The feature was really useful, worked perfectly, and made life easier for Fi users that chose to take advantage of it. It's really disappointing to me that it's being removed.

Agreed, I am extremely disappointed that this action is being taken, seemingly without any actual reason.  It's a service used by some of your best group customers, great way to show appreciation to your most loyal early adopter customer base.  Google is known for arbitrarily discontinuing services at random but there's a key difference.  This service is being offered to PAYING customers, unlike most free Google services which are free.  I think Google at least owes their customers an opinion poll on this to see how receptive people really are to losing it instead of declaring "well a lot of people don't use it, so we're making an executive decision to cut it."

Really, Google? What do you mean by "not many were using it" ? It was a huge factor that persuaded us to  switch to Fi. This seems arbitrary and capricious. I think you should rethink the decision.

So, how the hell are we billed? I am part of someone else's plan-do I get charged automatically, or does he request pay, or what? This is BS. It was so easy the way it was-now, its a giant friggin hassle.
Google can say they have something bigger and better in the pipeline-my suspicion is, they have nothing, and will half ass something causing even more issues.
Seriously. You took a product that works exactly the way it was designed, and that most who are on Fi used-and removed it, and will "replace" it with something "even better", at some point????
Please.
I have some beach front property in AZ if you're interested.....
